Protecting the brand’s integrity has been a core pillar since 1978. Integrity is so foundational that the brand was built around the premise: with integrity, nothing else matters, and without it, nothing else matters.

Promising Quality in Angus

Before Certified Angus Beef, consumers didn’t know what “Angus” meant. Angus meant little, except to its breeders. A strict adherence to quality through its 10 carcass specifications continues to serve as the foundation for maintaining the breed’s premium beef position in the marketplace and drives demand for registered Angus genetics.

CAB at 40: the beef community’s brand

The Certified Angus Beef ® (CAB®) brand turned 40 this year, tapping into an increased well of available and qualified cattle, up 25% in two years. With annual global sales reaching beyond 1.2 billion pounds (lb.), it’s pulled far ahead of a very large pack, the hundreds of other brands combined falling short.

A mark to remember

A mark to remember

In discussions about how to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Certified Angus Beef ® (CAB®) brand, painting 40 barns with the logo was an off-the-wall idea. However, for a company deeply rooted in rural tradition, it seemed a fitting way to commemorate the milestone.

Some of the CAB team at the time were, candidly, more optimistic than me. We did the math and looked at so many of the trend lines that were in place from acceptance rates to certified head count. I wondered if the industry could respond.
