Celebrating Ag Day with some black & white & red (meat)

I love snow, and in my part of the world we haven’t gotten much of it this year. But every time I complain my dad reminds me that I can love snow, because I don’t have to work in it!

Today is National Ag Day and as I post this from a cozy, warm office I tip my hat to all the folks who work tirelessly in conditions like this:

Or this…

….or this…

..or this:

And as winter turns spring, you same folks will work in mud and wind and rain. And after that, the scorching summer sun.

In reality there is nothing magical about this one day a year, designated as National Ag Day, but it’s a good reminder for me to give a shout out to my family, my in-laws, my siblings, my boss and all their fellow producers. This is a whole-hearted THANK YOU!

I think I’ll celebrate the way I do several days a week: with some delicious beef.

Anybody with me on that?

May your bottom line be filled with black ink,

Miranda

Every day is a chance to learn and get better. Thousands of others like my new friends in Alabama are taking steps to meet the shifts in consumer demand, and to know more. Small steps in the right direction can start now. Even if it’s just recording a snapshot of where you are today, a benchmark for tomorrow.
