Sharing the brand’s news
I feel your pain.
A photo, while it “paints a thousand words,” can sometimes pale in comparison to the actual experience.
You see, when it comes to one of my jobs here at CAB, I’m often the one left staring at a picture, exclaiming, “I wish I had been there!”
I’m sure you already know about the American Angus Association’s Angus Journal, but did you know about Brand News? Inside each monthly edition of the Journal, I get to share with readers what the Certified Angus Beef ® brand has been up to for the last 30 days.
Stories are short, details are shared and our hope is that you walk away having a better understanding of who we are and what we do.
Because if you’ve never heard someone say CAB is diverse, allow me to be the first to tell you. Our staff alone consists of culinary masters, event planners, writers, designers and even a meat scientist or two. Those and many others work with partners around the world and in your backyard to share the brand and the quality message. There are ranchers and chefs, radio DJs and meat cutters, television personalities, food bloggers, and plenty of black cattle.
They’re all on common ground in this section, a concise, one-stop shop to get you caught up on everything CAB.
Be warned, if you’re like me, it may leave you wishing you were in attendance – especially when there’s great steak involved.
Be sure to check out the next edition of Brand News in the May edition of the Angus Journal or find past issues here.
Thanks for allowing me to tell your story,
Laura

Thriving with Shrinking Supply
Even as the nation’s cow herd contracts, “more pounds” and “higher quality” have been common themes. Specific to commercial cattlemen: It still pays to focus on carcass merit, in addition to other economically relevant traits.
Rob Shuey Joins Certified Angus Beef Board
Shuey knows the product and understands sales and how CAB partners view the brand. This extends internationally, given he retired from Tyson as the senior vice president of international fresh meats, lending him a global perspective for CAB’s licensed partners.
