Snow after Earth Day in Kansas
My cows would be included in that group, and they are a bit bewildered this morning.

The National Weather Service went to great lengths–all the way to Z–to find a name for what we are seeing in this April 23 storm: Zeus, with snow from Colorado to Minnesota and flooding on the southeast side of the line.
Guess we would rather have a couple inches of snow to cap off our recent 7 inches of rain than the other way around, but ponds are actually pretty full here and we have put in an order for warmer weather for next week. Anyway, will put up with perhaps finding a couple more bales of hay for the herd today.

Last Friday they came a-runnin for hay, but took one bite of comparison to the still-short-but-green stuff starting to grow all around them. It did not even need to ruminate to register with the 90% of them that tried to beat the truck out the gate as if to say, we wanted more food, but not HAY! Maybe today they will not be so picky…
